Patricia Jackson

Trish is a multiple media fine artist living in Johannesburg. She started her BA (Fine Arts) at the University of Witwatersrand completing it years later through Unisa in 1996. She returned to Wits to do a 2 year post graduate Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts in 1998 after which she completed a post graduate Advanced Diploma for Art Educators through Unisa in 2009. She is currently enjoying working under the guidance of master printer, Collin Cole at the Blue Door Studio.

As an artist, whether through sculpture, painting or etching, she has been exploring concepts of discards and erasure in contemporary society, posing questions which invite the viewer’s response. Her worked is imbued with an enquiry of identity, social responsibility, and faith from a Christian perspective.

The works in this PRINTED 2012 Exhibition reflect a deepening ecological concern and questioning of responsibility towards our degenerating planet.
