Exhibitions Curated

2008

  • "Formation", artSPACE durban, the show aimed to give the spectator insights into the psyche of five painters and their thought process in producing a work of art. Included on the show are the painters, Dee Donaldson, Grace Kotze, Anet Norval and Janet Solomon
  • "diminutive", artSPACE durban. The exhibition aimed to draw attention to the unobtrusive miniature which is often overlooked with attention being drawn to "showy" large scale works. This exhibition venerates the voice of the small, its ability to express the modest as well as the grand. The exhibition showcased twenty six artists of a variety of mediums ranging from precious metals, scrimshaw, sculpture, graphics, painting. Among the participants were established as well as emerging artists.

Comunity Work
2004

  • Mosaic training project
  • Developed and facilitated a training innitiative, overseeing a 24 lesson syllabus that provided a mosaic training for 10 disadvantaged men and women.The course resulted in participants work being sold at the KZNSA Buzz Art and employment for a number of the participants.

Wylie House Children's Home

  • Ran three art classes weekly at the Wylie house children's home for abandoned and abused children, under the auspices of the Outreach program of the KZNSA Gallery. Attended regular meetings with the principal and house mothers where the children's cognitive and emotional developments were discussed.

1992 - 1995
King George V TB Hospital in Durban

  • Ran weekly art classes under the auspices of the Outreach Program of the KZNSA Gallery.The children at King George V Hospital are often removed from their homes for six months or more. They can be deprived of the beneficial attention regular adult teaching has to offer. The classes were designed in order to aid their emotional and physical development.

1989

  • "Electronics in Art", donated a painting for a fundraiser Auction, supporting the South African National Tuberculosis Association and Fine Art Scholarship

  • Volunteer work at Sweetwaters Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. Many of these children were abandoned or spent many months at the hospital due to illness. Art classes were created to aid their emotional and physical development.

  • This included free-hand and computer illustration and layout work, both freelance and on a permanent basis for three design studios. Among the projects are: Home Zone, Hub, Phonetic Productions, Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa, Institute of Natural Resources, Natal Master Builders , Game, Stuterfords, Media Link and Dano Textiles
